Tokyo, Kyoto, Hakone (Japan)
Exploring Japan along the classic “Golden Route,” balancing big-city energy with quiet cultural moments. They started in Tokyo, where days mixed neighborhood wandering and family-friendly museums, a trip to TeamLab, the Pokemon Cafe, with evenings spent sampling ramen, sushi, and kawaii treats. From there, they rode the Shinkansen to Kyoto for temples, tea houses, and hands-on experiences like calligraphy and kimono dressing, plus a day trip to see free-roaming deer in Nara. Their trip also included a luxury ryokan stay in Hakone, soaking in hot springs, riding the ropeway with views of Mount Fuji, gentle, restful experience along their journey.

Lisbon & Madeira (Portugal)
For Portugal, my clients combined time on the mainland (Lisbon) with a relaxed island stay in Madeira, a destination that has quickly rose to the top travel destinations worldwide. Their days included scenic viewpoints, easy levada walks suitable for different energy levels, and time at natural lava pools and clear-water beaches. They also enjoyed cable cars up the mountainsides, strolling historic gardens, and a fun, low-stress mix of dolphin-spotting boat trips and Old Town food so parents could unwind while kids stayed engaged.
Family Travel with Elementary Schoolers
In the UK, my clients loved pairing iconic cities with slower countryside stays. They began in London, taking in highlights like the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, the British Museum, and a ride on the London Eye, with plenty of breaks in neighborhood parks and cozy cafes. From there, they slowed the pace with a few days in a Cotswolds village, trading city crowds for village greens, local pubs, and countryside vistas, before heading north to Edinburgh for castle views, the Royal Mile, and storytelling-rich walking tours that brought the city’s history to life. They also got to experience Stonehenge.
